In reply to the discussion: Need help calming my fears please! [View all]CTyankee
(67,138 posts)37. You and me both! I've been a little frantic all day and posted my fears here today.
And I've noticed other DUers are experiencing similar fears/panics/sleep loss. My neighbor, a retired architect who lectured at Yale, is glumly predicting a loss to Trump next month. I'm scared to check in with my son, who feels she understands his position, as a fellow prosecutor and a strong Democrat. I'm checking in tomorrow with my daughter whose husband is a Democratic political consultant in Boston. My husband is very quiet lately and glumly watches the news and doesn't want to talk politics.
So you are not alone....

Probably a very good idea. It might help if I wasn't retired with a lot of free time on my hands. Think I'll check out

Stop watching the political news. If you are up to it volunteer for call banking.

I'm not worried about the popular vote. I know H/W are working hard to ensure we win the swing states. 🤞it works! 🙏

It's hard to calm fears when the country's future is being decided by a coin toss.

Yup, the most important coin toss in the history of America. The stakes couldn't be higher. Thanks!

Yes, the uncertainty is so stressful! And knowing some Americans know about DT, Jan 6, Project 2025 but support him!?!

It's definitely a puzzle how anyone can support him. Guess that's what cults are all about, making the crazy seem

She's still leading in the polls. She has more money and more organized ground game.

Our country is what it is because ignorance is always wanting to take over.

Maybe you need to step back from politics for at least a few days and relax.

Really I've stopped looking at polls lately, but that doesn't stop me from seeing headlines...
