and would get a laugh from any political scientist.

Populism is an ideology that puts all the blame for a society's woes on a small segment of a populace--making "the other" a scapegoat for all "the people's" problems. And then firing up the rage of "the people" against the Jews, the Mexicans, or whoever.

Populist movements never turn out well.
