Also believe Sanders needs to do what he can to throw cold water on those popuists and other extremists who still invoke his name to draw supporters to their attempts to burn down "the establishment" (protected these days by the Democratic Party).

He did a great deal of good by joining the Democrats going into the 2020 GE to fight trumpism, but many LW extremists are still hoping to defeat the only major political organization fighting to save our democracy and, lacking a new leader, constantly involking his name and statements as cover for their oppositional intentions.

We're also still living with the sequelae of the vulnerable sorts on the far left who believed the Big Lies that Democrats "rigged" the primary elections in 2016 and that Democrats are really just a version of Republicans. Some tragically apparently still believe this, and imo Sanders owes it to them to do all he can to help those who will listen to him to understand the political players, their ideologies and goals, as they really are. For their own sakes.

And to the nation and all our sakes to put us in position for the 2024 battle.
