But someone who made that choice and then was truly “personally responsible” would socially distance and if they had to go out in public would diligently wear a highly effective mask.

They want to live their lives as if Covid doesn’t exist. No vaccines, no masks, and all the activities they’ve always done, with maybe a nod to the virus by taking some extra vitamins or a squirt of ivermectin paste. Covid WILL find them if they’re doing that. It’s just a matter of when.
