Related: About this forumIs a BLUE WAVE Coming?
Two Southern special elections, one in deep-red Tennessee and another in increasingly competitive Georgia, show Democrats significantly overperforming expectations, signaling potential danger for Republicans ahead of the 2026 midterms. In Tennessees 7th District, the GOP held the seat, but Democrats slashed a 22-point Trump margin to just 9 points, a dramatic 13-point shift. In Georgia, Democrats flipped a seat in a low-turnout race, demonstrating strong organization and voter motivation. Viewed alongside national trends including strong Democratic fundraising, high GOP retirements, and continued Republican struggles in suburban districts, analysts say these results point to a broader pattern of Democratic performance across the map, fueling talk of an emerging blue wave that could threaten the GOPs House majority in 2026.

Between big money donors, fickle voters, corporate owned media, Russian and Chinese interference, spreading of lies online etc. etc. Democrats will have a difficult job.
