I don't consider it outside the realm of possiblity that a guilty man was deliberately let go -- if only because it allows DerTrumpler to (continue to) blame it on the left.

EVERYONE is ASSUMING that the murder of Kirk was over POLITICAL DIFFERENCES. From all directions bleating about POLITICAL VIOLENCE (nobody is suggesting better gun legislation). But what if Kirk had been killed for something other than politics? What if he had been killed over money, or over a girlfriend, or just because the sniper wanted to be famous. We've been shedding tears needlessly if the real reason for his death was not political disagreement.
