Political Violence Must End - Democracy is at Stake - Adam Kinzinger

Political violence is never the answer and threatens the foundation of democracy. The assassination of Charlie Kirk shows the system is failing, and we must return to the battle of ideas, not weapons for the preservation of Democracy. - 09/10/2025.

We MUST do something about Gun Violence. Absolutely.

The number of gun deaths in America per capita in America is 11 TIMES the number of gun deaths per capita in other high-income nations. And that appalling number is driven primarily by a firearm homicide rate that is 25 TIMES that of comparable nations (2015 numbers).

But to decide, in advance of the facts, what motivated Mr. Kirk's shooter is a SERIOUS PROBLEM. You are filling empty space with a dangerous narrative.

We can grieve for the manner of death (i.e, death by gun shot by a person unknown, for reasons unknown) as a reflection of the intolerable level of gun violence. And we can also note that Mr. Kirk was hellbent on ensuring this nation DID NOTHING to reduce that rate. As we should all know by now, on April 5, 2023, Charlie Kirk told us that the intolerable level of gun deaths in America is just an acceptable “cost” of their "righteous," extremist, reactionary opposition to ALL gun regulation, no matter how modest the measure or how many lives the measure would save.

"I think it's worth it. I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights."

The manner of death and Kirk's positions are facts. PLEASE stop drawing conclusions or speculating in advance of the facts.

Is nothing short of nonsensical. I wonder if his family would agree with that statement now.
