Related: About this forumTrump's NIGHTMARE is HERE As CRIMINAL TRIAL STARTS - Legal AF
The first trial against Trump since he took office starts on Monday-- Gov. Newsom v. Trump -- and its historic, as the first time an Administration has ever been put on trial for a criminal violation of the 1878 Posse Comitatus Act by using Federal military troops on domestic soil for law enforcement purposes.
Michael Popok gives a watching guide to the 3 day trial in front of Senior Judge Charles Breyer in San Francisco and explains the historic implications if Breyer rules against Trump. Michael Popok also reports on LAF contributor Adam Klasfeld of All Rise News doing daily updates on the trial with his unique "from the court room" approach, and Cali Attorney General Rob Bonta joining Michael Popok this week to talk about the trial. - 08/10/2025.

against President Donald Trump, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and the Department of Defense. "The action challenges the legality and the constitutionality of the federalization of the California National Guard pursuant to a June 7 memorandum issued by President Trump and to June 7 and June 9 orders issued by Secretary Hegseth."
