Since nearly all hourly wages ride atop the minimum, that's a lot of people who have deserved raises for decades now and have not gotten anything but tokens that didn't come anywhere near the increases in productivity workers have delivered. Or true inflation.

Most of them won't articulate it this way, but they do see themselves falling farther behind parents and grandparents every single year and it hurts.

I'm surprised the difference is as high as it is.

My constructive criticism to Dems in office reading that poll are 1) remember who the hell you work for and 2) for dog's sake, try to learn what the multiplier effect is and why you can use it to beat the GOP over their fat heads and get some decent legislation passed instead of trying to hold a line that has shifted way too far their way.

Forget about the one upmanship on Congressional floors. Few are watching and it's not like people who are that mean and stupid are going to get it, anyway. If they could, they'd never be Republicans.
