The BIGGEST political story no one is talking about - Chris Cillizza

Chris Cillizza argues that while most media are focused on Trump, Epstein, and tariffs, they’re missing a politically seismic story: Texas Republicans, pushed by Donald Trump, are redrawing the state’s congressional map mid-decade to gain up to five more House seats before 2026. This move could cement GOP control of the House, which Democrats see as their best shot at flipping a chamber during Trump’s second term. In response, Democratic-controlled states like California, New York, New Jersey, and Illinois are exploring — though not yet executing — their own mid-decade redistricting plans. If Texas succeeds, it could trigger a wave of partisan map-drawing any time a party gains power, making congressional control far more volatile and politicized.

I could live with 100,000. If that makes the congress less productive, I can live with that.

and let a computer program set up districts. No bias, just have districts with basic geometric shapes, squares and rectangles mostly, allowing for natural dividers like rivers, and or major highways that split population centers. This would remove bias for ethnicity and political affiliations. It would be fair to both parties I know fairness in US politics is almost extinct, but this could possibly rekindle some in our politics too.
