(461 posts)1. NOT WEARING HER CROSS
So she's stopped wearing that cross when she lies through her teeth? Will Peter Doocy and Fox News let the Trump administration get away with this? They wouldn't if it was the Biden administration. "Client list" is very specific. She didn't say "files" she said client list.
Justice matters.

BREAKING: Fox News reporter Peter Doocy brutally confronts White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt after the administration claims that there is no Jeffrey Epstein client list despite previously stating that there was.
When she tried to slither out of it, Doocy brought the receipts...
"Okay. So. The FBI looks at the circumstances surrounding the death of Jeffrey Epstein," said Doocy during a press briefing. "According to the report, this systematic review revealed no incriminating client list. So what happened to the Epstein client list that the Attorney General said she had on her desk?"
"Well, I think if you go back and look at what the Attorney General said in that interview which was on your network, on Fox News" began Leavitt.
"I've got the quote," interjected Doocy.
"Go ahead," said Leavitt.
"John Roberts said 'DOJ may be releasing the list of Jeffrey Epstein's clients will that really happen?' and she said 'It's sitting on my desk right now to review,'" said Doocy.
"Yes, she was saying the entirety of all of the paperwork, all of the paper in relation to Jeffrey Epstein's crimes, that's what the Attorney General was referring to and I'll let her speak for that but again when it comes to the FBI and the Department of Justice, they are more than committed to ensuring that bad people are put behind bars," said Leavitt.
"They have an operation going on right now called Summer Heat which has our murder rate trending in the lowest direction in United States history," she continued, trying desperately to change the subject. "Their emphasis on violent crime and locking up violent criminals has led to the arrest of 14,000 violent criminals. That's a 62% increase from the same time period last year so this Attorney General and the FBI Director are committed to putting bad people behind bars where they belong."
"They promised an exhaustive review, that's what the did. For any further details I would refer you to the Department of Justice," Leavitt concluded.
Simply put, her response doesn't hold water. Attorney General Pam Bondi clearly stated that the Epstein client list was on her desk, not that there were documents related to Epstein on her desk.
There are two possible explanations here. The first is that there never was a client list. This explanation wouldn't necessarily rule out the possibility that Epstein had blackmail material on powerful people and was connected to intelligence agencies, it would just mean that he didn't keep a little black book on his schemes. If this is the case, it means that Bondi pretended that there was a list to pander to the segment of the MAGA base that believes in it.
The second explanation is that there is a list and the Trump administration is covering it up because it implicates Trump or people close to him. Given that Trump is an adjudicated rapist who was close friends with Epstein, this seems quite possible.
