Resist every day in every way you can, big or small, within boundaries you set.
Protest regularly, because protests help resistance define itself and that is a needed precursor to truly large mass action.
There is pain coming, from the economy and from pushback against resistance.
It is too soon for general strikes because Americans' tolerance for pain is low. Societal disfunction has to become more obvious and painful before the pain of mass resistance becomes endurable.
It is not possible to skip these steps before general strikes will be effective.
