2. Allen only got inside the lobby, one floor above the dinner. So, he was able to penetrate exterior security, but was stopped by interior security. He got close enough to make noise with the shooting and disrupt the dinner and alarm the people who were present, but not close enough to harm them.
3. Trump's Acting Chief of Staff tried to start up a chant of "USA," but it fell flat.
4. Trump and members of his administration were relaxed, laughing and joking while still in the room after the incident. Trump and his MAGAS immediately launched into the demand for the ballroom, but did not focus on investigating the incident.
Nobody knows even today who set the German Reichstag fire or why, but we do know how opportunistic Nazis and their Fuhrer used the event to consolidate Hitler's power as dictator.
Trump has many enemies foolish enough to try to attack him. Trump and people close to him know that. We do not know if the attack by Allen was a set-up or not. But we can see how Trump is using the event to further his own agenda.
