Let's talk about Trump reading the Bible to you.... - Belle of the Ranch

Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about Trump reading the Bible to you.

Trump has recorded a Bible verse for you to hear next week when it's released as part of an 84 hour public presentation. The event will have more than 500 readers, each reading small portions of the Bible from Genesis to Revelations over 8 days.

For Trump, his participation is coming on the heels of posting AI Trump Jesus and insulting Christian leaders, while his Secretary of Defense reads a fake Bible quote. and his VP seems to imply that the Pope shouldn't be anti-war and should concern himself with matters of morality, not what Trump dictates. Dictate was his word, by the way. What will Trump be reading? The reporting says he will be reading a passage about repentance. 2 Chronicles 7:14.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

I wonder what the book of Donald says about repentance. "Why do I have to repent or ask for forgiveness if I'm not making mistakes? I work hard. I'm an honorable person.”

Well, we finally found him. The guy who gets to cast the first stone. That was in 2015, by the way. He's always had a deep misunderstanding of Christianity.

Christians by default are supposed to be a forgiving group and should be quick to forgive, but given Trump's recent fumbles with Christians and attacks on Christian leaders, this may not go over the way his political advisors believe it will.

In fact, the more attention he calls to it, the more he says, "Hey, look at me. Look at me." via press releases and media blitzes. The more he tries to stand on the street corner and be seen by others in his show of faith, the more this is likely to backfire spectacularly. Somebody might want to counsel the president to be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them.

Before going down the road he's currently on, it might be wise for Trump to sit down and take a long hard look at the Sermon on the Mount and in particular read Matthew Chapter 6 and really absorb the meaning.

This is a political unforced error that his team should see coming miles away because almost his entire team makes a big show of their faith. You would think that somebody, anybody on his team, would realize that engaging in a bunch of showy religious activities out of nowhere after mocking Jesus with that AI picture won't go over well. And to the Christians watching this, realize nobody on his team was familiar enough with the Sermon on the Mount to know how this might be received.

Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
