The global view of Israel has deeply soured, as the nation's repeated war crimes are exposed in its joint war with the United States against Iran and now Lebanon. More global leaders are calling out Israel's blatant war crimes, human rights violations and are starting to cut ties with Israel.

And while support for Israel is becoming more unpopular by the day with the American public, the majority in Congress still won't break ties in its financial support of the government. Although as of this report, 40 Democratic senators voted against funding any arms to Israel in Senator Sanders proposed legislation. While the bill didn’t pass- it shows the tide is turning against support for Israel.

As Suri Crowe reports in this piece for MTN, there is a new wave of progressive candidates, who are running openly on an Israeli free agenda. Is the electorate ready to vote them in and make a clean break with Israel? - 04/17/2026.

Wikipedia gives more complete information on the word's origin and usage. Contrary to what the video narrator says, Arabic and Hebrew are both Semitic languages and Israelis and Arabs are both descendants of Semitic people in the region. Semitic languages extend across northern Africa as well as the Levant. Modern Israelis have an admixture of European ancestors due to the centuries of some (not all) diaspora Jews in Europe. But the language and culture of Israelis are Semitic.
