but I keep flashing to a couple of things from The Wizard of Oz. The moment Toto pulls back the curtain, revealing the mechanisms and levers of power behind the illusion of omnipotence is one. The other is when the erstwhile wizard informs Dorothy’s companions that they already possessed the qualities they sought.

It occurs to me that some repuQs will profit handsomely from the demise of the rump regime by picking up the pieces After the collapse, will some try to outdo each other in their repudiation of the rump regime? ‘I’ve seen the light!’ can resonate with some folks, and I’d hate to see any of them pull the wool over the eyes of their constituents.
