Of, course, that is not going to happen. If manufacturing does come back, it will be automated. The guy is at least smart enough to know he is losing money, but maybe not much smarter than that. In any case, I don't want my tax money to go toward bailing him our for his 'passion and hobby'

These farmers continue to support someone who really doesn’t care about them.

and others who think it's helpful to engage in maple syrup sweetness and purity tests and who demand that party leadership engage in insincere performative stunts for the entertainment of others, rather than focusing on matters of more pressing importance that have the potential of benefitting our entire country rather than the ones falsely accusing Democrats of being corrupt. The purity tests that try to make Democrats look bad have never helped us in the past, in fact they do more harm than good. This is in addition to those who inexplicably demand that Democrats use powers that they do not possess, and then blame Democratic leadership for willfully not doing the things that they cannot do (as a minority party.) Oddly, the fact that these things do NOT help Democrats leads some to believe that this is "proof" that the Democrats need to be even more pure than originally demanded. Yet, that doesn't help either. It's a vicious cycle that needs to stop.

So, yes... as you noted, they support Trump in spite of the economic turmoil... but they do not see the Democrats as the solution in large or meaningful part because of the things I mentioned above.

In the end, what we truly need are MORE Democrats in office rather than continued efforts to tear down Democrats in pursuit of purity. Let's win back the House and Senate. Even if we elect a Democrat who is as awful as Manchin was, it's still one more seat in the D-column that puts us closer to having a majority so that Schumer (as much as he's reviled and hated by some) will be the one who's setting the agenda, the votes, the committees, the priorities.
