(29,883 posts)and hold up passing the CR until Democrats got protections for the social safety net,
The gutting of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, etc, is now law, good luck trying to undo a law.
Also the reimbursements to Obamacare are set to expire.
The time to take a stand was March but Schumer led a handful of Senators to kneecap the majority of Congressional Democrats and now he is in a huge dilemma.
Just curious how many DUers were opposed to taking a stand back in March? I know I was criticized for wanting the social safety net protected,, was told passing the CR would protect Social Security, well it certainly did not.

(243,751 posts)One thing that I heard is that a Democratic Representative from Arizona just won a special election to replace her late father. But it appears that Mike Johnson is taking his time swearing her in. There was a Republican member in the same position and he's been sworn in already.
