He uses simple language and explains things so well and in a calm manor. Kind of reminds me of Captain Kangaroo when I was little.

And I was a huge fan of Captain Kangaroo in my pre-school days - and was absolutely thrilled when my parents got me a genuine replica of his co-star, Bunny Rabbit!

Do you still have it? I would've loved that. I loved Bunny and Mr. Moose and Mr. Green Jeans. I used to watch the show at my Grandma's every day when my mom or dad would drop me off on the way to work. Grandma would cook and clean and hang out with me some. That was probably the happiest time of my life.

And I watched both Captain Kangaroo and Romper Room with my Nana (paternal grandmother), too. I also had a genuine Romper Room Bronc and when I galloped along with the kids on TV, my Nana would join me using the dust mop!

It's nice to have those times to look upon fondly. A lot of people don't have them.

I never had grandfathers, both of the died long before I was born which was tough on both of my parents, but they were also American heroes, fought in WWI. My paternal grandfather was the eldest son of Irish immigrants and he signed up with his brother to fight. My grandfather brought ammo to the front on horseback and my great-uncle fought at the front and was awarded the Silver Star. As for my maternal grandfather, he and my grandmother were both immigrants from Poland. My grandfather arrived as a young man, they made him a citizen to fight for his new country. So much for attacks on immigrants...
