A key excerpt --
Moore said he phoned Trump because he put together some data that shows he was correct to dismiss Erika McEntarfer as the head of the BLS. He noted thats because reports from the BLS had overestimated the number of jobs created during the last two years of Bidens term by 1.5 million. I think they did it purposely, said Trump, who has yet to offer statistical evidence backing his theory.
As the person in the OP above says, they can't verify the claim at all.
============================================
What I do know is that there is an expected PRELIMINARY annual revision for the 12 months thru March 2025 to be announced in the August jobs report that comes out on September 5. I thought I read somewhere that it was expected to be between 550,000 and 950,000 downward, but I can't find that anywhere (and my memory is such that it could be about something entirely different). Whatever it was, this doesn't sound like what Steve Moore is talking about
I googled --
expected revision in BLS job numbers through March 2025 to be announced with the August jobs report?
I found this, very comprehensive on jobs revisions (but no guess on what the Sept 5 report will show on the annual revision)
