As always it seems
this was a little experiment.
Started out as a kinda way to germinate seeds
more or less direct to soil. My preferred method.
Many, growers start their seeds in a paper towel the transfer to a red Solo cup
thats how the breeder I use starts their seeds. Then when properly vegged they cut the bottom out of the cup and place into the final venue for growing to maturity.
I usually germinate straight into the 3 gallon grow bag that they are going to live their entire life in. My neighbor that grows wanted to see the cup with the bottom out procedure
he totally remove the seedling then transplants into a 5 gallon bucket.
As a reminder
I grow autoflowers exclusively nowadays and autoflowers hate to be transplanted which is why I grow direct to the final venue. But as a favor, and a learning experience we went at it.
I had some extra seeds from a crazy experiment I did a couple years ago. Starting with a Humboldt Autoflower strain as it was growing I dusted some of the young buds with pollen I got from my neighbors grow. At that time he was photoperiod only
cant remember what strain he had at the time it made no difference.
Those were the seeds I used for this. I tried the seeds in the grow tent with limited but okay results. They grew long and high with little bushing out.
This grow I segregated from the grow I have going I the grow tent and raised it in the outside greenhouse.
HELLO
!!!
Approximately a meter high

These seeds did not grow exactly like an Autoflower plant. Being in the greenhouse it grew with the natural lighting and daily schedule. Inside I grow the autos under full spectrum through veg then a mix during flower all on an 18/6 schedule.
Think I created whats now being called Semi-Autoflowers
only time will tell. Well go again next year.
