3. when I was in high school the principal called an assembly

The whole school at once, gathered in the auditorium. This was in northern Virginia. It would have been '72 or '73 I think. No one told us what it was all about, but there was a big screen on the stage. After we all got settled, the principal showed us Little Big Man. Nobody ever told us why, in fact I don't recall it ever being mentioned again. When it was finished, we all returned to our regular class schedule.

I was 12 or 13, and it forever changed how I thought of Native Americans.
