The food lion in North Chesterfield, Virginia does not care. I was there this morning and saw someone with a gun on their belt. I told the manager and he said that "I cannot dictate the law to a customer. If they have a permit and the right to carry then I cannot tell them to do otherwise." He did not even ask to see the gentleman's permit.

I lived in Virginia in the 1990s (Alexandria and Spotsylvania Co) .... yahoos were "open carrying" back then

I honestly don't understand why most folk are ok with concealed guns and only outraged by open carry. Personally, I would always prefer to know when I am within range of a gun. I like to have the freedom to distance myself. I would be ok with concealed carriers if they all wore large yellow cones on their heads with a letter "G"

Guns in the public venue should be strictly regulated and controlled, and should only be allowed when transporting them to a range, or for hunting.

The tired argument that "only criminals will have guns," is rubbish as the police will still have guns, and that is as it should be. More guns equals more gun violence, and more opportunities for criminals to acquire guns.
