the best short story ever for D.U., it is all gone and you have to remember it all over and then type it on your small phone where your fingers are bigger than any two characters so you are constantly backspacing.

I use a browser extension called GhostText that mirrors my typing in a text editor. Only the title is lost in a hangup (So I add it to the text)

This is techie stuff, for desktops. Not easy to set up.

Otherwise, I copy my typing to Apple Notes ( Any text editor will do) before risking the Preview or Post button on serious or long posts. Serious means many references to retrieve.

These glitches are beyond our control, so practice "defensive posting" on longish posts.

Good Luck.

then if something goes awry during preview or posting, I can always* get it back with Control-V for paste.

*(Unless the computer itself glitches up so that I have to reboot which wipes out the clipboard).

For longer posts, at some point, I do a control-V paste into my ever-present Notepad text file, and then I do further editing there...

This on a desktop computer. I haven't posted from my phone for years.
