Ok I have tried all the options suggest but the annoying MY SUBs still lights up. I guess I need more step by step instruction.
I must admit that some of the above suggestion didn't display as the instruction suggest.
I'm assuming we are all on the same version.

(26,502 posts)It will have check marks ☑️ on forums you subscribe to , just uncheck

(22,848 posts)The check marks just filter the Subscriptions page. If you uncheck the boxes and click the "Filter" button it won't display the unchecked items on your current view of the Subscriptions page, but you are still subscribed to those items.
However, if you click on the item name -- whether it be a forum or a person -- next to the check box, it will take you to the item. If it's a forum, you'll go to the forum. If it's a person, you'll go to their Profile page. Either way, there should be a big red "Unsubscribe" button at the top of the page which you can click to unsubscribe from that item.
The "My Subs" tab lights up whenever a new OP is posted in a forum you're subscribed to, or whenever a person you're subscribed to posts an OP. So the only way to completely stop the "My Subs" tab from lighting up is to have no subscriptions at all.
Thanks

(55,673 posts)of any forum page, you'll see Start discussion and Subscribe as the most clearly marked options...unless you're already subscribed, in which case it will say Unsubscribe.

(22,848 posts)On your Subscriptions page, in the right column (or at the top on mobile) you should see the list of items you're subscribed to -- forums first, then people.
To Unsubscribe from those items, just click on them (the name of the item itself, not the checkbox). If it's a forum you'll be taken to the forum's main page. If it's a person you'll be taken to their Profile page. Either way, at the top there will be a big red "Unsubscribe" button.
If you unsubscribe from all the items on your Subscriptions page, the My Subs tab will never light up.

(7,477 posts)..... the specificity of not using the checkbox, but to click on the name of the item itself, not the checkbox.
While I have your attention, I would like to ask you about your networking issues. I spent 30 years as a computer consultant to public schools in Wisconsin.
My question is, do you need an upgrade to your infrastructure? We need to keep "our DU site" up and running. You might not want to make public statements, but I want to help. No, I'm not looking for a job; I have been retired for 12 years, and that means I have no skills that you could use.
I'm a Star member who would be willing to pay more to keep DU up and running. Given the broad support DU has, I would bet others would join in paying more if it would help to keep DU up as we fight back against the tyrant and his sycophants.
If you would like to discuss this more, send me a DU email. I am tired of receiving at least a dozen emails every day asking for donations. We often donate to those who have demonstrated they are willing to fight back, not just to keep their comfortable, paying job. I would forgo a lot of those political donations and spend the money to keep DU running.
Thanks for the work you do! I have not forgotten that part, and those memories are not outdated.
