He teaches Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Washington in Seattle.

He usually does a blog update every couple of days or more often if there's significant weather predicted.

This time of year in the PNW, it's typically stormy and windy (like as we speak!), so I check him out pretty regularly.
Here's what we're getting nailed with presently: http://www.goes.noaa.gov/GSSLOOPS/wcir.html

Damn, my lights are flickering right now.

Some of the information is a bit over my head, but I get the big picture because he is, well, an instructor!

I always learn SOMETHING!

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
