No mail service to US from Thailand as of Friday, August 22

Thai Post is not accepting any letters or packages, presumably for fear that each item -- including ordinary mail -- will be charged the Trump Tax, payable by the US recipient. In Thailand's case, that is $160 per letter.

I assume that Thailand Post's "transportation partner" was unable to get a guarantee that first-class mail would not be charged; i.e. that letters aren't "goods intended for consumption".

The US Social Security Administration will not pay $160 per letter to receive the required yearly 7162 proof of life forms.

Nor, obviously, will anybody who has paid a few bucks to purchase something from overseas.

... Trump getting any more petty and despicable, but here we are. $160.00 for a letter from loved ones in Thailand. This... thing, is not human. It is a malevolent monstrosity in an ill-fitting suit, with the fevered mind of a sociopathic six-year-old.
No one is going to save us from this evil entity; we have to save ourselves.

Or consulate. You may be able to mail it there.
The consulate in Frankfort handles our social security changes.
