because the writer is basing it on theories by actual scientist.
What outlandish scifi that turned out to be facts are you thinking about?

(22,456 posts)...and I'm referring to the general ability of sci-fi authors to extrapolate from their limited contemporary knowledge into the realities we recognize today that were unrecognized at the time.
Speculation on the future based on understanding of past revelations is pretty much what science is about anyway.

There is zero actual proof of any such happening, and when someone says, Well I didn't see it myself, but I talked with a guy who spoke with a guy who says he saw aliens/alien craft, well that's pure hearsay and is meaningless.
