Massive Pyroclastic Flow Descends Entire Slope of Mount Semeru Volcano (Feb 13, 2026)

I've never seen a pyroclastic flow just launch into the air like that. Usually they just hug the ground until they stop.

I remember in May of 1980 when St Helen's blew off a 1000 feet of her top. I was in Pullman at WSU we had darkness from 130pm til the next morning

Caused by the fog bank that was planted where it was and the pyrocloud interacted and then went over it.

Fantastic thing to witness, beautiful and awful all at once.
