Can someone help me?

I love to go new places - yet I get SOOO anxious !

Both due to the exposure and vulnerability to completely unfamiliar places and people

AND

leaving my little ranchito and farm animals, gardens and flowers and trees - such exposure!

I am heading out to a superfun and meaningful event this week and the anxiety takes a lot of the fun out of it.

TIA!

HOPE my grands have the opportunities I had.

I suggest some sort of medical attention for anxiety; discuss with your primary medical caregiver.

Good luck!!!

4. Keep you breathing from being shallow and speeded up. Taking someone calm along will help ...

... I get your resistance to travel. For years I felt like I needed a vacation when I came home from vacation. I realized that I over planned my trips. Give yourself time and the luxury of cutting short or forgoing anything that just isn't comfortable.

6. Don't know if this will help,

but before I shipped out to Army boot camp I told myself if it would be an eight-week vacation from my world. It helped a lot.

I did a lot of traveling for work and I always saw the trips as a break from my world. So real vacations are always a break, except I don't need to come back with anything.

7. Focus on how you will feel

when you are back home with a new experience under your belt. Traveling rearranges your DNA. Think about the new person you will be.

It will take the stress out of it, because you will know that no matter what happens it will be worth it.

Agree with giving yourself time to chill. I have traveled alone all over Mexico, Central and South America as well as this country. You have the best experiences not rushing around cramming as much in as possible, but giving yourself time to become part of the place you visit.

Maybe it's exhilaration! That would be nice.
