Does anyone here remember Roman Gabriel?
Growing up in the 60's, CBS had an East Coast game, then a West Cost game. The Rams got a lot of the WC broadcast mindshare. For good reason. Gabriel was the first quintessential QB. Tall, tough, and what an arm. He was my first QB that made want to read the NFL results the next day. Loved watching the late 60's Rams. And they had the Fearsome Foursome...

Harold Carmichael. I was about fifteen and at the Old Vet with my dad as the Eagles practiced.
I went with my Dad to a Boston Patriots game at Harvard Stadium. Saw Joe Kapp suck and get bombarded with snowballs by Pats fans after he turned and gave them the Double Flying Eagle. Pete Sellars was a great receiver, IMHO.
back in the early 60s. Great player and, yes, movie star looks.
Roosevelt Grier, unbeknownst to many, was really into needlepoint. In fact, I got started doing needlepoint because my father found his needlepoint book at the library. I probably never would have been interested in that “girly stuff” if not for that book.
