Related: About this forumWith all this recent news about AI I got thinking.
It appears that AI is getting better, more difficult to distinguish from what I call natural intelligence. We see reports of students using apps like ChatGPT to write papers, in essence, cheating in ways that are difficult to distinguish. I saw a report yesterday of a robot which could hold a conversation with a human being. And, of course, there was the story earlier this week where some were worried that AI will result in the extinction of the human race. But it brought to mind Harlan Ellison's story, I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. He wrote it in 1967!
