when we were giants the earth shook as we marched
in times of war men cowered to hear distant thunder
each day was a day of birth of hunger being parched
rumors spread and flowered amongst fields of wonder
when we were giants even gods held us in great favor
acolytes and priests sacrificed on blood covered altars
soot and smoke stained facades penetrates each flavor
hearts or souls never sufficed an appetite never falters
when we were giants disastrous defeat loomed before
simply to hear an advance was enough to instill fear
