counting each second after the lightning flashes
before the cold grumbling of the thunder arrives
another flash this time much nearer and sharper
until a time comes when the flash and the boom
are simultaneous the rain rattles and winds howl
the finite becomes the infinite in a limited mind
breath is short pulse is rapid fears are on the rise
to release the panic is not a choice but the need
there is no past no future there is only that now
encompassing everything a domination of senses
erasing the intelligence burning of all civilization
to awaken amidst these ashes embers and debris
once the storm passes all is forgotten life replaces
the truth with the false living within the sacred lie
