the letting go

what once was owned is no more it is the letting go
deleting all price and value creating a new dark void
tired hanging the arms so sore accepting a final blow
waiting for the storm to ensue as the hate is deployed
streams run between fingers quicksilver flows in veins
all the poisons accumulate within the dying moments
remembered memory lingers with doubts and shames
a false collection to emulate the illusions of romance
sort through ragged remnants waste piles mouldering
save scraps of burnt paper marred by indelible words
written by demons and saints over the fire smoldering
a spent and sputtering taper singeing feathers of birds
floating adrift in this place where time has lost its grip
clinging onto the last trace of the slowly sinking ship
