having lost the concept of grace living in the shallow
dark ghostly shadows hiding from the fearful reality
wasting time that we can’t replace our wombs fallow
dreams of effortless gliding reaching for immortality
each measured step is counted every second divided
the numbers which define dust drifts through fingers
with the values being amounted the worth is decided
photographs increase in focus yet more doubt lingers
words bellow from the mouth passive ears assaulted
conflate the truth and the lie the importance matters
compasses swing north to south a false god is exalted
losing faith not knowing why all that is solid shatters
and once more to lie awake deep in the darkest night
wondering if to accept the fate or to embrace the fright
