first the blood ran freely escaping from the meat
forming beginning to drip showing no discipline
each groove a shy river towards the infinite sea
spreading into tributaries of individual streams
the touch of a life giver as the still seconds flee
flowing from the capillaries in a glistening gleam
watch the seepage slow the river source recedes
collecting at a fatal spot the center of the wound
as silent minutes grow each passing hour speeds
the crusting of the clot the scab become attuned
to never get the time back however great a need
