(125,436 posts)to take the VP out of the Capitol by car if it was being attacked by people on the ground. I can see that being done if there was a danger to the building itself, e.g., a 9/11-type situation or a bomb threat, but since there's a whole network of tunnels under the DC government complex, wouldn't it have been safer to move him out through a tunnel rather than subjecting him to the possibly greater risk involved in taking him outside and into a vehicle?
Somebody's got a lotta 'splainin' to do.
