(10,599 posts)I bet the ratings for the 9 PM EST slot are in the toilet, which almost certainly is dragging down the rest of the night's lineup.

Why are we always kneecapping ourselves?

(43,049 posts)and he didn't do much for Hillary.
The doings at Current TV just reinforced the attitudes that getting rid of him was not such a bad idea. He also violated the rule that news people should remain, or at least look, apolitical by giving to campaigns right before an election.

(3,267 posts)And honestly, who really cares if he didn't make any friends in his war with O'Reilly? Who wants friends like that anyway?
We need to hurl wildcats at the extremist right wing propaganda machine, not milk cows.

(29,258 posts)He was part of that whole MSNBC Boys Club in 2008 who excoriated Hillary. I couldn't take it after a while. And he was a bit schticky. Remember his "Special Reports" or whatever he called them where he'd dramatically turn to face the camera and then spend like 20 minutes trying to be Edward R. Murrow?

When Brian left, I left. I don't need opinions.
News and analysis? All the links are on twitter to news makers.
BUT.....I would watch Olbermann if he returned to MSNBC.

(56,098 posts)despite his sexism. What am I misreading?

(3,267 posts)The subject of my post is about having someone on our side who will dish it out to the propagandists who are currently engaged in turning America's women into handmaidens and Stepford wives, among other things.
Not necessarily sexist jerks, but in your face jerks. Look at what we are fighting.
My post says "we need jerks" but it also clearly implies that sexism is not a desired quality for a "jerk", or aka, a commentator that is capable of taking on the right wing. But your word parsing seems to want to turn my post into some kind of a pro-sexist dog whistle. Why?
Then again, maybe I missed something. Perhaps there is some terribly sexist rant done by Olbermann that I am just not aware of which should automatically disqualify him from using his abrasive style on the extremist GOP.
Any examples?

(11,193 posts)Not saying he's a genius (though he kind of is), but people that are difficult to work with can be the most innovative, too. He was that on MSNBC.
