(3,286 posts)I plan to live to the age of 100 with the help of cannabis of course. Whether it's legal or not, as long as it is available.

(28,784 posts)No one expected the Berlin Wall to suddenly fall - yet it did. Of course there were prior actions in place - Hungary actually had more to do with it than Reagan -whose administration had no clue, along with Bush I.
People are talking about legalization all over the place and a majority DEFINITELY want rescheduling.
But, as with East Germany - there are bureaucratic gatekeepers whose incomes (really good incomes, I might add) depend upon persecuting others for a victimless "crime."
What's going on with mmj in various states is like people in East Germany pushing against their totalitarian govt.
...impossible to predict, but I think it could happen...or maybe it already has happened with Congress' action allowing regulation of marijuana in D.C. and the courts, rather than the legislatures, will be the ones to finally stop the madness.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
