Monday's KCChronicles * Chapter 6 of his history with DU * In the new home.

"Shadow, What do think of this new place?"

"It's pretty good. You'll like it."

_____________________________________________________________________________________
KC reminisces:
"Do you remember, at the old house, when you saw me out on the tree limb?"

"I was worried you were gonna fall off. I'm glad you didn't."
"Me too! I'm going to take a nap."

After waking up, KC sought out sister Shadow. Told her what he'd seen.
"Guess what? Mommy & Daddy still have that old laundry basket
that I sat in once. Daddy took my picture. That was fun."

One time our friends and their kids came for dinner at the new house.
They got to meet KC. He was a hit!

As he became more comfortable KC relaxed. Most anywhere in the house.

Made himself quite comfy in fact.

He discovered our mirrored closet doors.

Took advantage of his old Cat Tree.

Sometimes he just plopped down right where he was.

He made himself comfortable in Mommy's recliner,
whether she was there or not,

but it was always better when she was.

Then it’s time to relax after all that hard inspection work.
Sophie has that exact same food bin at our house as in your first photo.
I love the one of Shadow watching KC in the tree through the window!

Thanks for noticing.
Just happened to have camera handy when KC was in the tree! Click!
It seemed KC got to each nook and cranny. Gave his paw stamp seal of approval.
Thank You!

Great photos and captions as usual, George McGovern. Looks like KC made himself right at home in the new place right from the get. Usually cats don't like change. But of course, he had you, Laurie, Shadow and his cat tree which were all familiar to him and probably helped him adjust quicker.

I love all the pictures, especially Shadow looking out the window at KC in the tree at the old house. That would be an awesome painting.

cat carrier the entire 2 + hours of our moving trip from the backseat of the pickup. In-house I agree with you, he seemed to take cues from Shadow especially, plus he hung out in that old Cat Tree. He done good.

KC in the tree's one of my favorite pictures. I'm not a painter, but I did respond to an online offer to make it into a greeting card. Card came out okay. It's going back on the refrigerator after this photo.

Thank You!

Holly starts crying the minute she HEARS me taking the crate off the shelf and continuously screams bloody murder the entire way in the car and we never go any farther than 15 minutes away. The vet is about four minutes away and the kennel is 15 at the most. At the vet's office, she screams the entire time. Sometimes she'll stop if I pet her through the bars of the crate. If I let her out of the crate before the vet comes in, she hides under the bench, screaming every second.

If we have Martini with us, she cries along in solidarity but she doesn't scream.

I think that picture is my favorite, too. It's so great you were able to capture that moment on film!
