(27,293 posts)But when she finished, she was through the house like a bolt of lightning! She would dash out, up the hall into the living room, around to the kitchen, then back down the hall PAST the bathroom, into the bedroom of her choice to hide. To this day, I have no idea why she did that.
We never could teach her to flush it, though.

(27,378 posts)A black one and a ginger Tabby. Without a doubt, whenever I go into the bathroom, from wherever she is in the house, Lucy, the Black Cat, comes racing into the bathroom. If I'm sitting on the toilet she hops on my lap and then settles in for pets and scratches, or she'll just stay there whether I pet her or not. If I'm just at the sink counter she hops up on the counter and stays there until I leave.
I actually love it.

(335 posts)Sensing another devote appreciator of the other-worldly goodness of dogs, I always love your posts and the way you love your dogs. Thanks always for your posts. Each one gives me the awareness of a kindred spirit. I've posted before about my beloved Pyrenees, Coasta. She has been gone 1.5 years now and I dream of her every month of two. I love the dreams and will miss her for the rest of my life. If there is a beyond, which I doubt, I will miss her there too, or then again maybe I'll see her. All that though is useless conjecture. She was the BEST in more ways than I could ever describe or convey.
My current dog, June Bug, the Maremma sheep dog, is a crazy wild child. Not unruly. Just filled with a semi-wild spirit. Her mouse hunting focus rivals the focus of a Zen master. Despite her call of the wild streak, she is an insanely loving and gentle spirit. She lives with my goats and unfortunately, I can't enjoy the wonderfulness of having her with me more often because she lives in mortal terror of getting in the car. That said, she is so happy with her outdoor farm life. Last night, I was stroking her belly and telling her what a wonderful beautiful girl she is and she was so happy she had to abandon the petting to get up and do a few joy-filled zoomies before coming back for more. I have never met a dog so open to loving and being loved by everyone. She makes me happy every day and there is little I wouldn't do to return that happiness.
I'm thinking about getting a second dog that can be my out and about companion, but am a little wary of going ahead with it since I already have June and 40 goats. I did see a beautiful Anatolian up for adoption and am very tempted. She'd be such a good friend for June and, being another livestock guardian breed, would be okay with the goats too. I sure do miss a having a dog that can go from farm to home. We'll see...

(128,938 posts)of blankets, if I raise the lid in the toilet. He will come in, turn around, plant himself in front of me, facing out. I read somewhere that this is a protective posture, brought in from the wild, when cats guarded each other during that vulnerable time. I always thank him for taking such good care of me.
