Drove past the breeders where i bought Dunc from five years ago.

The breeders have a sign out Golden retriever puppies.I said to Dunc he was riding shotgun we were holding paws , i asked wonder how much trade in I’d get.

Bet Dunc said you'd have to take all the puppies plus 10 years' worth more for an even trade. sinkingfeeling Jul 26 #4

Don’t need to be intentionally breeding dogs. Lots of healthy dogs being euthanized because no one to adopt them.

There is nothing wrong with wanting a specific breed from a good breeder. We had a Golden Retriever and it's easy for me to see the appeal. They are wonderful dogs. (The joke was that he has papers, but refuses to use them.) Yes, shelter dogs are wonderful too. We have rescued several of them, and even more shelter kitties.

The problem is with backyard breeders and people who refuse to neuter their pets. Also, people get tired of their pets and just leave them outside to roam. All 4 of my best friend's dogs came to her that way. The first thing she does after she has looked for their owners is neuter them.

There are actually places in the country that don't have enough dogs because of successful spay/neuter programs. We have too many dogs here. Some of my friends are part of a transportation network that transfers our extras to the places that need them.

Just my $.02 worth. I enjoy reading about the antics of Dunc.
