(14,072 posts)I almost got puppy fever when I checked petfinder "just for fun" last week and saw two female Aussie puppies. But a puppy would be unfair to my very old dog. My young do OTH would love it. If I saw a speckled girl like that I wouldn't be able to help myself.
I keep telling you what a beautiful dog she is because I can't help it. I meant to ask you, is she a Texas Heeler (Aussie/Heeler mix)? I keep thinking that there must be Austrailian Shepherd in her, but maybe BC. I love herding breeds! I need somebody intelligent around the house!

(12,929 posts)Shadow's a lovable eight year old puppy-at-heart. She was rescued in a litter of ten, then chosen with another of the pups to live with a foster mom and that's where we met her. And fell in love right away. As a young puppy she followed us around outside, inside, wherever we went, there she was. So she became our Shadow.
Her heritage is: 1/4 Border Collie 1/2 Blue Heeler plus Husky, Golden Retriever, Austrian White Shepard.
As it happened, we adopted Shadow when our old female dog Sandy was still alive. Sandy tolerated Shadow and even began to play with her. Here they are/were together.

(134,035 posts)By the way, is it my imagination, or does that spot of paint/dirt/peeling (???) under the door, to the right of her Jolly ball, look remarkably like her coat? In the first pic?

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
