5. I lost my two lemon trees in the snow apocalypse...

They were in pots and we brought them up to the patio and covered them with blankets, but it was just too cold too long. But I’m tempted to try again. They were Meyer lemons, which I think are dwarf anyway, but way too big to get into the house or garage. Of course, electricity was out for days so there was no way we could use heating to save them. The memory of their flavor is enough to tempt me to try again.

I bring my trees inside during the winter and my Meyer lemon is having a productive year. If you have electricity there are ways to protect it outside during a cold spell. Life is short get another lemon tree.

I stopped in at a small Asian grocery to look for spices. They had a few fresh produce items, including nice fresh lemons 3/$1 I doubt they were organic, so that might be a drawback for some.

and they're not big lemons, either.

I rarely buy any lemons but I see the sign. I don’t know how much they are at Kroger, where I also shop.
