I will take Strawberries over any candy that currently exists

It’s such a brief season. “Real” strawberries are infinitely better than the ones in the supermarket.

They used to appear in early June. Now, b/c of climate change, you have to check to see if they're ready the third week of May.

Of course, now I'm jonesing for some and can only drool over past pancake breakfasts... 🥲

I'm recovering from a stroke, but to answer, I truly hate the taste of maple syrup.
And I have been invited over, many times,, to cook. And my plates, always looked better than a burnt pancake,

You hit my trigger! When we lived in Bristol TN, there was a farm called Scotts Strawberry and you could only buy them for about 3 weeks a year. They never packaged them
They would set up pickups , trailers, and I would drive into an empty lot where the pickup was, and, bought, strawberries that were, picked that day . And when they sold out, which was usually around 11 am, you just had to wait until tomorrow. Those beautiful berries were so big, it took me , bites, to get through 1 .
The cost? Was 5 bucks for about 8 or 9 of their berries, that was called, a basket .

Buy local meet the farmer, not the, grocery store manager, it may cost you a couple bucks more, but you'll eat less because that lil thing called your brain, will be satisfied by the flavor difference.
