Breakfast Thursday 9 April 2026

Good morning all, I'd like to thank Emile for covering for me as I took a few days to spend time with my dear sister and it was wonderful.

The exhibition in Cincinnati about Auschwitz-Birkenau was amazing and hard to process, many tears were shed in the museum, on the long drive back and yesterday.
Given what was happening the last few days....well it was vital to see what nearly unchecked malignant power could do, did do. It took most of the world to stop the Holocaust in Europe. It is still unfathomable and very very easy to see what happens, what is happening now in our beloved country. It truly is not long ago and not far away.

For breakfast today later on I'm planning on making a Swiss cheese toastie on whole grain bread with ham, onion and broiled tomato slices. The usual pot of hot tea to drink.

And I only won 1 game of cards🃏 from Sunday till yesterday.

Thank you again Emile and I hope you sleep in a bit today.

I'm glad you and your sister spent time together. Over the past five years I lost my sister, and last year my brother, I miss them both.

Good Morning 🌞

Cantaloupe, red grapes, and craisins, rehydrated. Toasted, slivered almonds on top.

The craisins are really good when rehydrated, which is easily done in the microwave.. Making a note to resupply next time I go to the store.

Toast.

Decaf coffee.

Oh, and thank you to Emile for covering the breakfast thread!

Just don't call it "breakfast for dinner." People do that without knowing that eggs can be for dinner without being breakfast!!
The RG says the French frequently have eggs at dinner because they are easy to digest.

However, he is away for awhile, so maybe I should call him the NRG, Non-resident Gourmand?
His career is in specialty foods, importing pastas, olive oils, etc. He is a genius cook and knows more about food than anyone I've ever met.
