What's for Dinner, Mon., Aug. 18, 2025

Leek potato soup (isn't that called vichyssoise?). I have leeks I need to use from my garden. The recipe I'm looking at wants thyme, but I think I'll go with tarragon.

Definitely some type of sandwich later. I'm mulling over tuna-egg salad with banana peppers or Muenster cheese with a thin slice of ham. Might do a wrap to keep it light.

Kombucha: strawberry rhubarb.

Dessert: chocolate marshmallow ice cream.

I'll probably sub asparagus for the green beans if it's still good. I've also got some duck fat in the refrigerator to toss the potatoes with before they go in the oven.

... these are pseudo meat, with grilled onions and tomato, maybe some slaw on the side.

There were enough leftovers from the last two night’s dinners for a full plate of food. Rice primavera and spicy green beans were great. My wife went out to dinner with friends so I was happy to not have to cook. Cheers!🥂

Have a place 20 miles off, that has an absolutely killer spice mix for
their roast turkey and provolone subs. I treat Mrs. JP (who makes so
many sandwiches for me )
