Running toward a goal is much better than running away from a problem.

As of 01/01/2013, I started jogging. I haven't done that since my 20's.

Picture this, 6 am on a cold Michigan morning, pitch dark save the street lights. Temp 18 degrees, spitting snow, windchill of 6 degrees. Pavement half snow covered. I'm out there in a fluorescent green Nike hoodie and a new pair of New Balance cross trainers. Strobing LED armband so I don't get hit by a car. 'Overexposed' by Maroon 5 on the iPod. Did about half a mile, walked another half mile.

It was FUCKING AWESOME.

Running toward for once, not running away.

Lots of great views on the trails.

Hey, make a deal with you, you get one, I'll get one, and we'll ride together next summer.

I want this one (dream big if you have to dream):

To sign up at a different health club closer to my house. I can't make myself drive clear to the Y. I need to get moving. I think being stalled is half of my depression.

I did very well this fall because I did arthritis water exercises about three times a week. It launched me out of my fog. And I do tend to fog over and settle into the doldrums.

I'm so happy for your progress. I'm inspired.

It's a network for people who train to run a marathon or half marathon. You can start out with a group that runs/walks at the same pace as you.
