Related: About this forumOne week to go until election day. How is everyone holding up/coping
I'm pretty much avoiding watching MSM news. Also taking 1/2 a 'chill pill' in the morning and the other half at bed time, along with 1/2 a Trazodone to help me sleep. For the most part I am sleeping for at least 6 hours.
I've already voted so after Monday I plan to stay put in case things get dicey, which I fear will happen no matter what the outcome of the election. Hopefully I can get all of the kid cats to snuggle with me. Maybe I'll mix up some ode du tuna or cover myself in catnip.
Fortunately I have an appointment with my therapist this Wednesday. No doubt he will have some coping suggestions to share that are an improvement on my current one of constructing a straw long enough to reach the bottom of a bottle of gin. OK, just kidding. Sort of.

(41,109 posts)One pundit wrote Trump has basically admitted he's going to lose & this is his rally cry to the troops for after the election. Another wrote that for Trump the real election starts on November 6th, which is basically the same take. What is it with the 6th? One more & he'll be the antichrist.
I'm hopeful & slightly positive, which for a pessimist like me is saying a lot! Stuart Stevens of The Lincoln Project thinks we have this & said he wished the dems weren't afraid to show that they're winning. Walk with swagger, he said. It attracts voters.

(751 posts)For every encouraging thing I read about the election, Ill come across something discouraging, so I cant calm down too much. A person came to our door and gave us four signs to put out, so we feel like were doing a little to help. Thats the first time in fifteen years anyone from any political party has come to our door, so the Harris/Walz ground game is really good.
